If you are not from Rajasthan you will be forgiven if you have not heard of Ravinder Bhati just yet.
But ask anyone in Rajasthan about him and you are sure to get an enthusiastic response even from traditional BJP and Congress supporters. The 26 year old “6 feet tall” soft spoken independent MLA from Sheo assembly constituency part of Barmer Lok Sabha constituency is the new kid on the block who is giving sleepless night to the incumbents. He is fighting the Lok Sabha Election as an Independent candidate from Barmer after BJP refused to give him ticket. Bhati waiving from helicopter to the mammoth crowd who is waiting for him in the scorching sun is a sight to behold.

The son of a school leader he started his political career by becoming the first independent student union leader of the Jai Narain Vyas University of Jodhpur. Since then he has not looked back. He fought as an independent from the Sheo constituency in 2023 Rajasthan assembly election and won comfortably. Now after four months he is back amongst the people to try his luck as an independent MP candidate, and now it is BJP candidate and Union Minister Kailash Choudhary turn to worry about the response Bhati has been getting in his rallies and road shows. In a short span of time he has become a youth icon as the youth consider him as one of their own.
The people who are losing patience over farm crisis and unemployment sees hope in Bhati as he speaks to the people in their own language. “He is articulate and understands the problem the locals face in their day to day life” says Bhairon Singh a young boy all of 19 years who has decided where to cash his vote. Whether Ravinder Bhati will win or not we will know on 4th June, but one thing is for sure Bhati is here to stay and this is not the last we have heard of him
