Swapnil Kusale made history by winning a bronze medal in the men’s 50m Rifle 3 position category. This is the best performance by India in shooting in any Olympics edition in terms of number of medals won. Before this India had never won more than two medals in shooting. In 2012 London Olympics Vijay Kumar won the silver medal in the individual 25 metre rapid fire pistol event. Also in 2012 Gagan Narang won the bronze medal in the Men’s 10 m Air Rifle Event.
Swapnil Kusale has added a third medal to India’s tally at the Paris Olympics 2024 by winning a bronze in men’s 50m rifle 3 positions final. So far, India have won three bronze – all coming from shooting.
Manu Bhaker has already contributed two of the three medals won by India and she can add one more medal. Her next event at the Paris Olympics will be the 25m pistol event. She will begin the competition on August 1, with the final scheduled for August 3
