Pune Teen’s Mother Shivani Agarwal Arrested in Porsche Case

Pune’s Teen mother Shivani Agarwal arrested in Porsche Case

In a latest development on the Pune Porsche crash case, Pune police have arrested the mother of Vedant Agarwal the teenager accused of fatally hitting two people with the luxury car. According to the police, the mother tried to swap her blood sample to falsely show that her son was not drunk at the time of the accident.

Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar revealed that their investigation found the minor’s blood samples had been swapped with his mother’s.

On May 19 in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar, two tech professionals both from Madhya Pradesh lost their lives when a Porsche, allegedly driven by a drunk Vedant Agarwal who is a minor, crashed into their two-wheeler.

The 17-year-old minor has been sent to an observation home, while his father and grandfather have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping the family driver and pressuring him to take the blame for the accident.

The investigation uncovered attempts by the influential family to cover up the crime. Initially, they tried to persuade their family driver to take the blame for the tragic crash in exchange for money. When he refused, they kidnapped him and continued to pressure him to confess.
There were irregularities in the 17-year-old’s medical examination at the state-run Sassoon Hospital. To investigate, the Maharashtra Medical Education department appointed a three-member committee, led by Dr. Pallavi Sapale, dean of Mumbai’s Grant Medical College.
The teen’s mother previously appeared in a video message claiming that a viral video supposedly showing her son was fake. She also tearfully appealed to the police to “protect” her son.

Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Kostha, 24-year-old engineers from Madhya Pradesh, were tragically killed on May 19 when a speeding Porsche hit their bike. The teen accused of driving the car drunk was released on bail within 15 hours under conditions criticized as lenient: he had to write a 300-word essay, work with traffic police for 15 days, and seek treatment for his drinking habit.

Amid growing outrage, the Juvenile Justice Board changed its decision and sent the teen to an observation home until June 5, while they consider the police request to try him as an adult.
