Kolkata police launch probe into ‘bomb threat’ email to schools

The message said two “Terrorists Ching and Dol” were behind it.

Around 200 govt and private schools affiliated to different boards in Kolkata and suburbs received a bomb threat in emails on Monday. The emails mentioned that bombs had been planted in these schools and that large scale destruction had been planned.    This news has created panic amongst the parents as many Bengali News channel played the news on their channels.

A primary investigation by Kolkata Police revealed that the mail might be fake. A probe is also underway to determine who is behind the email. The Kolkata police STF, along with the cyber cell has contacted several internet service providers in this respect.  The threat mail, sources said, was similar to one sent on January 5 that led to tourist spots like the Indian Museum and Science City to be shut for visitors for most part of the day.
