Rohit Sharma, who single-handedly destroyed Australia and took revenge for the World Cup final loss, would be looking forward to giving the same treatment to England.
Rohit Sharma is a jovial soul off the ground but no do not mistake his relaxed attitude for a lack of intensity and focus. Those who know him will vouch for the fact that he has not forgotten the drubbing England handed out to India in the 2022 T-20 World Cup semi-final held in Adelaide, where England beat India by 10 wickets. In that match, India batted first and made a solid 168, with both Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya scoring half-centuries, but England won the match without breaking much sweat. Both their openers Jos Buttler and Alex Hales remained unbeaten.

But much water has flown under the Torrens since then. India is playing a fearless brand of cricket and with the return of Jasprit Bumrah ( he did not play in 2022 T-20 WC) India’s bowling attack is the best in the world. India has remained unbeaten in the tournament where as England has lost to Australia in Group match and to South Africa in Super 8. This is not to say that England can be taken lightly. They have match winners in Jos Buttler and Phil Salt. Also their three spinners Moeen Ali, Adil Rashid and Liam Livingstone can make use of spinning friendly condition in Guyana.
India had a tight match against Pakistan but other than that they have mostly dominated their opponents in this tournament and that too without star batter Virat contributing much in the six innings that he has played.
Virat is a man for big occasions, and there can’t be a bigger occasion than a World Cup semi-final against an opponent who humiliated them two years ago. It is a moment of reckoning, and one can be sure that both Rohit and Virat are not going to let it slip away
