Sunita Williams Health Deteriorates amid extended Space Mission; Nasa claims otherwise

Sunita Williams health has deteriorated if the latest picture is any indication. Williams and her fellow astronaut Barry Wilmore have been at the ISS since June. An eight-day mission to the ISS has turned into a months-long stay after a malfunction of the Starliner spacecraft. Now, the astronauts are set to return home in February 2025.

NASA though has clarified that all the seven astronauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS) are in “good health”. Jimi Rusell who is a spokesperson for NASA’s Space Operations Mission Directorate told Daily Mail all the astronauts aboard ISS undergo routine medical evaluations and are monitored by flight surgeons, and that all the astronauts are in good health.

A picture of Sunita Williams is doing rounds on social media where she is visibly looking weak. She seems to have lost significant amount of weight. The weight loss is prominent as her cheeks have sunken and appear hollow. What was supposed to be a eight day stay has extended into months and it has taken a toll on William’s health.

Earlier on 26th October a NASA astronaut – part of the Crew-8, was hospitalised after returning from a nearly eight-month deployment on the ISS. The details of the astronaut were not revealed to protect the crew member’s medical privacy, NASA said. The astronaut was released the next day and is in “good health,” according to the US space agency.
