Badaun: A viral video of a government doctor and his associates vandalising a car is going viral. On August 19, Alok Upadhyay and his family were ambushed by the mob near Silhari village after they were returning home in their SUV after celebrating Rakhi. The person seen in the video is a doctor associated with a government hospital and his name is probably Vaibhav.
The enraged man can be seen attacking the car with women and children inside in it even as the car occupants screamed “There are kids inside. They are crying.” There were in total 10 members inside the car.
The violent attack took place when Abhishek Sharma and his family had an argument with Vaibhav following a minor road rage incident. The attackers then ambushed Mr Sharma’s car and vandalised it with an iron rod, the video shows. The incident happened on August 19.
As the attack continued, someone from inside the car can be heard shouting, “Tu Chinta Mat Kar.”
Speaking to Press Mr Updhayay said that “The accused overtook our car and stopped in front of us. I recorded a video of the incident and posted it online. Although we filed a police complaint, the proper sections were not included in the FIR. Later, the same individuals returned with a mob, attacked us, and vandalized our car.” He added that the police only took action after the video gained widespread attention on social media. The accused Vaibhav is said to be a doctor associated with a government hospital and one of his close relatives is a local Pradhan.
A similar incidence was reported from Bangalore a few days back where a bouncer who was riding a scooter had a minor collision with a car after which he vandalised the car. The car had three occupants including a nine month old baby.
