It has come to light that a complaint flagging the illegal basement was filed a month before the Rau’s IAS coaching centre tragedy but MCD chose not to take any action.
Two reminders were also sent but it not elicit any response from the AAP governed MCD.
New Delhi: After the death of three UPSC aspirants due to drowning and flooding it has been revealed that MCD was in the know regarding the danger it posed for the students and the staff members, but it choose to look away.
Rau’s IAS Coaching Centre was illegally running the coaching centre in the basement of its premises knowing fully well that it was prone to flooding and inundation. There was only one entry/ exit and no emergency exit in case of any contingency.
The coaching centre used to charge close to ₹ 2.00 lakhs from the aspirants but scant attention was paid for their safety and security.
